Drafting of seismic vulnerability analysis
The Deutsche Bank headquarters in Via Santa Brigida in Naples is a building of particular architectural value located in the historic center of Naples, built in the early 1950s. The building has 6 floors above ground and 3 underground floors, with a rectangular plan extension with sides of approximately 31 meters and 20 meters. Above the reinforced concrete basement, the steel structure stands out, whose main characteristic is that of having all the floors suspended from an extradosed roof structure above the four floors (frames 3 to 7) and incorporated into the side walls in the area where there is an additional floor.
The safety assessment with respect to seismic action highlighted the need for seismic improvement intervention in order to increase the resistance capacity of the existing structures to the actions considered. The improvement was obtained with the insertion of metal braces equipped with a single diagonal BRBS. The seismic improvement obtained was 30% in terms of tension and 55% in terms of deformation.
