
Materials consulting and characterization activities
The Ponte di San Rocco, located in Vimercate, is a work of exceptional archaeological and historical importance. Its oldest portion, a unique case in Lombardy, dates back to the Roman era, with a construction datable between the 3rd and 14th centuries. The bridge, characterized by four arches of great value, extends for a length of 28.50 meters and a width of 4.38 meters, constituting a significant example of historical engineering.
The activities carried out included the characterization campaign of the materials, essential to understand the nature and conditions of the original construction components, and the static assessments of the deck, aimed at verifying its stability and ensuring its safety. Being a historical and architectural asset subject to protection by the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape, each intervention was conducted with the utmost attention, respecting the cultural values and peculiarities of the work, ensuring its conservation and enhancement.
