Fire resistance assessment of structural works
The Municipal Casino of San Pellegrino Terme, inaugurated in July 1907 and designed by the architect Romolo Squadrelli, represents one of the finest examples of Liberty architecture in Lombardy and Italy. Set in a landscape of great value, it is a symbol of elegance and innovation. The building stands out for its unique decorations: eight columns in red Verona marble introduce a monumental staircase, while the chandeliers and stained glass windows, including the famous "Primavera" by A. Mazzucotelli and collaborators, enrich the interiors. The decorations include bacchanals of cherubs and zodiac motifs, works by the Croce firm of Milan and E. Quarti. Although it operated as a gambling house only until 1917, the Casino continued to host theatrical, cultural and artistic events, maintaining its function as a meeting and cultural place, and remaining an invaluable testimony to the Liberty style.
We dealt with the identification of the load-bearing structural works following the laser scanner survey as well as with historical archive documentary analysis and subsequently with the fire verification of the structural elements.
