Seismic vulnerability analyses

The building located in Cascina Rossago in the municipality of Ponte Nizza (PV) is a residential center specifically designed and organized for the life needs of people with autism in adulthood.

The building was subjected to seismic vulnerability analysis following the execution of a materials characterization campaign and the subsequent drafting of guidelines - with economic estimate - of the interventions necessary to reduce seismic risk.

The complex consists of three bodies of 2/3 floors facing each other, used as residences, connected by a single-storey body used for common services. The construction system of the three bodies consists of structures in reinforced concrete cast in situ, with pillars and framed beams and stairwells-elevator stiffened with reinforced concrete walls.

The bodies are separated by construction joints, from the foundation extrados to the roofing, so as to make the three bodies independent of each other with respect to static and deformational behaviour due to external actions.

Location : Cascina Rossago – Ponte Nizza (PV), Italy

Surface area : 2,200 m²

Knowledge level : LC3

Activities carried out : seismic vulnerability with material characterization campaign, seismic improvement guidelines
