Structural design and construction management
Villa Mirabello is one of the most interesting examples of the typology of the 15th-century suburban villa-farmhouse, and among the best preserved buildings in the area close to the urban centre of Milan.
The project by architect Gian Luigi Lenti includes the restoration of the surfaces and the structural consolidation of the façade overlooking the internal courtyard. Villa Mirabello is subject to monumental protection, therefore the project was subject to authorization by the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape.
The structural interventions involved the complete reconstruction of three octagonal brick pillars with partial replacement of the bricks and insertion of a metal carpentry core; restoration and structural consolidation of the octagonal wooden pillars on the first floor; consolidation of the wooden floor slab of the loggia floor. Particular attention was also paid to the design of the temporary works designed to support the front of the building and the related horizontal elements during the deconstruction of all the pillars present in the elevation.
