Structural design and management of seismic improvement works
Seismic adaptation project in Monsampietro Morico, in the historic center of the village, severely damaged by the seismic events of 2016-2017. The building, part of a building complex near the church, showed signs of structural degradation and seismic vulnerability.
The structure, with load-bearing walls in solid and rubble bricks, mixed wood and concrete floors and a wooden roof, was consolidated through non-linear analyses and targeted interventions.
The main operations included the consolidation of the walls with grout injections and the “cuci-scuci” method, the application of reinforced plasters (CRM) with GFRP meshes, the reinforcement of the floors, new structural connections with chains and tie rods and the replacement of the roof with a laminated wood roof. The interventions, compliant with the NTC2018, improved seismic safety, enhanced the historical context and provided for a maintenance plan to ensure durability and conservation.
