Design and management of structural consolidation works
The project signed by Studio Campanella Tessoni includes the conservative restoration of the former church of via S. Marta 20 in Vimercate, a historic church in the Vimercate area subject to monumental protection, therefore the project was subject to authorization by the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape.
The structural works project included important consolidations of both the masonry piers and the masonry arches using PBO composite materials, consolidation injections with pressurized mortar and stainless steel bars, metal carpentry reinforcements necessary for the creation of new openings and bracing elements following the revision of the original structural system. The historic wooden works were restored through interventions aimed at guaranteeing the new design loads.
The architectural project involved the reconstruction of the original bell tower previously deconstructed over the last century, using metal carpentry works linked to the existing masonry works after their static consolidation.
